Rudolf Wittkower

tysk-britisk kunsthistoriker, ansatt ved Warburg Institute, London, 1934–56, 1956 professor ved Columbia University, New York. Arbeidet særlig med den italienske barokks arkitektur og maleri: Die Zeichnungen des Gian Lorenzo Bernini (1931), Gian Lorenzo Bernini, The Sculptor of the Roman Baroque (1955). Han skrev også Architectural Principles in the Age of Humanism (1949) og Art and Architecture in Italy 1600–1750 (1958 og senere utg.).
