Daniel J. Boorstin

amerikansk jurist og historiker, utdannet ved Harvard, Oxford, Yale og Cambridge, professor i amerikansk historie ved University of Chicago 1956–74. Boorstin har vært direktør for National Museum, Smithsonian Institution, Washington DC, 1969–73 og overbibliotekar ved Library of Congress 1975–87. Han har b.a. utgitt America and the Image of Europe (1960) og The Image, or What Happened to the American Dream (1962). Hans hovedverk er The Americans (3 bd., 1958–73).
