ghanesisk historiker; utdannet i Ghana og Storbritannia, professor ved University of Ghana. Boahen har skrevet en rekke bøker om vestafrikansk historie, bl.a. Topics in West African History (1966) og Ghana: Evolution and Change in the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries (1975). Medredaktør av UNESCOs åttebindsverk General History of Africa. Presidentkandidat i Ghana 1992.
